What we saw then...What we miss now...Part 1
No cell phones, no Laptop, not even a personal computer. Wait a minute; are you thinking, is this the Stone Age I am talking about? Absolutely not! This is how it used to be when we were kids, the 90’s kids. Now that I think about it seems unimaginable to pull off something like that. Television was the only source of entertainment we needed (other than playing outdoors). And this is what we waited for each and every day.
The lazy evenings, after school, sitting in front of television for hours together and watching the cartoon shows we loved were the most memorable childhood moments. Oh God! This is so nostalgic....Here is the list of favorite cartoons from our childhood.
Tom and Jerry : Hands down, the best thing that could have ever happened. We Just loved this one and we do even now.
Scooby Doo : The mystery gang along with their adorable dog ; solving mysteries and unraveling the secrets behind haunted locations was too cool then. And the title track was just too catchy ‘ Scooby Dooby Doo....where are you?’.
Powerpuff Girls : Sugar, Spice, Everything nice and the Chemical X, this show had everything that was just perfect. One of the best shows ever.
Flintstones : Talk about the stone age and we had the perfect show that defined it. With well defined characters and executed brilliantly this was the best Stone Age family.
Jetsons : Opposite to Flintstones this family from the future. It showed what the future would look like. Flying vehicles, robotic maids, video phones and flat-screen TVs, this was a show way ahead of its time.
Dexter’s Laboratory : That small red headed boy; who was a nerd and of course the genius. I am sure everyone of us thought of having a secret lab like Dexter.
SWAT Cats : It was like the creators thought of everything that was awesome and shoved it all into this cartoon. Amazing weapons, fast bikes, super cars and the most advanced plane ever. Plus, the two kats, kickass duo of the time.
The Addams Family : With the crazy family this show made for some extremely fun times and taught us kids one brilliant truth: being different is not so bad.
Tale Spin : Who can forget Baloo and his cute little partner as they went around protecting their city from air pirates in their mustard sea-duck plane?
The Mask : Whenever Stanley put on his cursed mask, he turned into a green-faced, yellow-suit wearing crazy person with lots of cool superpowers and we always had big laughs when we watched this show.
